Student Leadership - School Code of Conduct Excursions and Camps

At our school we expect all children to follow instructions and be safe. School Council Policy - Camps and Excursions Behaviour Management Children who have been suspended or sent home from class (as per Behaviour Management Plan) within one month prior to the excursion or camp will be in jeopardy of not being invited to participate. Children who consistently do not follow adult instructions will not be able to attend camps or excursions if they pose an occupational risk to the staff or risk to the health and safety of themselves or other children.

If your child has been suspended from school prior to the camp or is on a Behaviour Management Plan please make an appointment to see your class teacher to discuss camp or excursion readiness. Any act of violence or refusal to follow a teacher’s instruction one month prior to camp will make them ineligible. Camp and excursion alternatives may be discussed with your child’s teacher.

School Council Policy - Camps and Excursions Disabilities Children with special needs (Disability and Impairments) will be encouraged to attend camps and excursions or modified experiences if safety can be maintained for child and other children attending the excursions or camp. Children with disabilities and impairments may only be excluded from a camp or excursion if the child is deemed “at risk” to themselves or the school group and all possible and reasonable modifications to accommodate the children have been made. Any act of violence or refusal to follow a teacher’s instruction one month prior to camp will make them ineligible. Camp and excursion alternatives may be discussed with your child’s teacher
