Curriculum - Gifted and Talented
We launched a Gifted Education program in 2008 and have teachers capable of individualising student programs to best meet the needs of academic students. We have cross-age classrooms (two-year composites) to allow for brighter children to collaborate with children of a similar skill level.
We run an extension program called WINGS and an individualised program for the six most talented maths/language students in each year group is selected to be part of this weekly program.
We have been committed to international and national competitions for children of advanced skill and our children have received outstanding results.
We run gifted forums regularly and encourage students with specialized talents to excel.
We have accelerated students’ full-year levels! We have had many grade 6 children accepted for the Select Entry Accelerated Program (Middle Years School) at year 7. We are flexible in our approach to ensure we cater for the needs of all children.
The school was a finalist in the Victorian Awards for Best State High Potential Programs 2020 and 2021. The school was represented at the World Gifted Conference in 2021.
